Day 6 of Blogmas: I spent over $350 on American makeup...

So, as many as you may have seen over on my instagram and twitter, I was luckily enough to go to New York wth my friend Holly. It was honestly the best place I have ever been to and I would definitely go again, 5 days is definitely not long enough to appreciate what New York has to offer.

Of course, while we were there we went to Sephora, Ulta, CVS, and Walgreens, yes I may have spent way too much money, but it was worth it. So, lets get to the good part...what I bought.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette:

I had been debating with myself for months about whether or not I should get this palette, it has been a major cult favourite and my friend Holly absolutely swears by it, when we were in Sephora I decided to take the plunge and get it, I have not once regretted it, the colours are amazing and the pigmentation is to die for!

Original Formula Airspun Loose Face Powder:

My friend Colette loves this powder, and when I saw it in CVS (I think) I thought to myself, I might as well try it, it was super affordable and I had been on the look out for a loose face powder as I haven't really ever gone for them before. I love this, but it is messy as anything!

Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder:

Yes, I did decide to get a second loose powder, because why not? I think it is good to have high end and drug store alternatives of the same product, because then you get to figure out of the price really reflect the quality, and of course, most of the time it doesn't. Nevertheless, I am glad I got the Laura Mercier powder!

Fenty Beauty Soft Matte Foundation in the shade 110 & Primer:

Ever since Rihanna released her Fenty beauty collection, I had been dying to try it, but seeing as you can only get it at Sephora and Harvey Nicholls, it can be a little tricky to come by. After seeing countless reviews on the foundation and rumours that it oxidised, I decided to go for the second lightest shade, 110. Mostly because it was a match, but also to make sure I gave it leverage to oxidise and so the it wouldn't look crazy on my skin. If I'm honest I haven't seen it really oxidise a lot which is good, but also, I don't really know whats so special about the foundation, it has excellent coverage but I found it kind of clung to the areas of my skin that weren't that oily.

The primer I still have mixed opinions about, I never really can tell if primers do much but this one is very nice to apply and I think, it made my foundation stay on for longer.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner:

I am always wanting to try out new eyeliners, if I'm honest I can not bring myself to steer away from drugstore liners, for me they really work and they're really affordable. I got the Kat Von D one in Sephora after so many people telling me it is amazing and everything, I do like it, but I do sometimes find it hard as the product doesn't seem to come out as much as I thought it did, maybe the one I picked up is a dud?

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation:

I have to say, I did very much pick this up impulsively at the airport when we were leaving New York and I am actually yet still to try it! I have always heard really good things on the Estee Lauder foundation ranges, so its time to put it to the test!

Huda Beauty Matte Liquid Lipstick & Liner in the shade Muse:

When I first watched a few of Huda's liquid lipsticks in Harrods about a month ago, I loved them, the colour is amazing, and it dries down really well. So, when I saw the Huda Beauty stand in Sephora, I picked up the lipstick and liner, I absolutely love them, the lipstick smells amazing too which for me is an added bonus!

Becca Highlighter in the shade Moonstone:

Again, having seeing everyone rave about the Becca highlighters, I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about, but I didn't really fancy spending around $30 on a highlighter that I may not get full use out of, so I decided to get the travel sized one which was around $12-15 I think. One thing I will say about this highlighter is that it is very powdery when you first start to use it, as you may be able to see in the picture, but when I've applied it onto my cheekbones, the pigmentation is stunning!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in the shade Dusty Rose:

I am a sucker for liquid lipsticks and seeing as everyone has been telling me that I only really wear nudes, I have been very slowly trying to get myself to get myself out of the habit of only going for nudes. For me, this lipstick is a lot more pink than I saw when I swatched it and I love it, the pink really stands out but at the same time, it isn't too bright for me!

Physicians Formula Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara:

Who doesn't like a good mascara? I love trying out new mascaras, seeing as I don't wear false eyelashes and when I saw this, and when Holly told me that one youtuber I watch (Tati) said that she really liked it, it spurred me on to buy it and try it for myself!

Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray:

I am a massive fan of the de-slick setting spray, so I thought I'd get myself a travel sized one of it as I still have a bit left in my existing bottle and I also have my beloved NYX Matte setting spray too, but having a little bit of extra de-slick is always welcomed!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara:

Having loved the 'They're Real' mascara also by Benefit, I already knew I would love this one, and like I said, I am a sucker for mascara! I have already used this many times now and I love it, it really helps lift and separate my lashes which is what I really need!

MAC Lipstick in the shade Retro:

MAC lipsticks are my absolute guilty pleasure, I honestly cannot leave a MAC store without buying either a lipstick or lip liner, their formula is amazing and both the satin and matte finishes are gorgeous. Retro is more a deep browny/red colour but is definitely more on the red side.

L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise:

Yes, I did buy 3 mascaras in literally one day, but usually I would never buy this much makeup in one go, so I am set for a while in terms of mascaras. I saw so much hype around this mascara and everyone comparing it to the Too faced Better than sex mascara, which is my all time favourite, so I am excited to try out this and really see what is about!

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in the shade Fair:

Why would I go to America and return without probably the most talked about concealer?! The packaging itself is stunning! Having used this a couple of times now, I do like it, but, I'm not too sure on whether I would actively go and buy it again? I just feel like there are just as good concealers for literally a fraction of the price, for example the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer.

Last, but not least,

Sephora Sheet Masks in Green Tea and Algae:

You cannot go to Sephora and not buy one of their sheet masks, at $6 each they are such a good price and are so good on the skin, I have used the Green Tea one and my skin was left feeling so smooth and a lot less oily!

Yes, this really did come up to over $350, do I regret it? Absolutely not!

Day 6 of the Lookfantastic advent calendar:
I got a Thisworks mask, moisturiser and primer 3-in-1! I used this  this morning and my skin feels so smooth!
