March Birchbox Unboxing!

Happy April everyone, even though we are well into the 4th month of the new year...

I haven't blogged in a while, no reason in particular I just felt like I had nothing to write about and my life was getting a bit busier due to 3 assignments all being due on the same day which all needed my undivided attention. Anyway, here I am now with a brand new birchbox unboxing!

I was so pleased with my first ever birchbox which I ordered back in February, I also have an unxboxing of that one if you would like to see it here. I decided to become a fully fledged subscriber to birchbox.

In this months edition I got samples of:
  • Marcelle gentle make up remover for sensitive eyes RRP: £14.50
  • Balanceme Instant lift primer RRP: £22.00
  • ModelCo Highlighting trio RRP: £17.00
  • Benefit double the lip in the shade Lusty Rose RRP: £10.00
  • Oribe dry texturising spray RRP: £41.00
TOTAL RRP: £104.50 (for all 5 full sized products)

I was really intrigued when I opened up the box and inside was a cute little bag with all the samples in, all of which besides benefit were all new brands to me so I was really excited to try out these, so lets get to reviewing!

Marcelle Gentle Makeup Remover for Sensitive Eyes:

I was apprehensive with trying out a new makeup remover as I am very stuck in my ways when it comes to my skincare and tend to stick to what I know works for me as my skin can get very grumpy when things done agree with it, therefore I usually stick to my simple wipes, garnier micellar water and body shop sea weed toner. When I tried this, I must admit the first use was not what I thought, it felt very oily and had some sort of oily smell which I cant fully describe, however it took all of my eye makeup off in literally one swipe with the cotton pad, that really made up with the oiliness of the product. However it does state on the bottle to make sure you shake it well before you use it to make sure all the products inside the bottle are mixed well together. All in all, I don't know if I would repurchase this again, however if I chose to in the future I don't think I would be breaking the bank, at £14.50 I think this is a reasonable price for this product. If you have sensitive skin and eyes, you should definitely give this a go.

Balanceme Instant Lift Primer:

I love trying new primers especially when they claim to be '99% Natural' which, this primer claims to be. When I applied it, my skin instantly felt smoother, I guess you could say 'airbrushed' and it did feel like my skin was getting a bit tighter - but not so tight that I felt like the tin man, it definitely was the right balance. However I do not know if I will be repurchasing this at the mo as I am still very much in love with using the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm as a primer, yes youtube made me buy it. But it is honestly, for me a real great primer for makeup.

ModelCo Highlighting Trio:

Birchbox are always sending out products from brands that you may not have heard of before, and even though I know a few brands I have never ver heard of this brand, meaning this was the first ver product of theres I got to try...and I loved it. The highlighting trio is so so creamy, but, because the product is very creamy I did find it was quite hard to blend onto my skin, if you know what I mean? I hope you do lol. I don't know if I would buy this again, I do very much love my holy grail Sleek Solstice highlighting palette.

Benefit Double The Lip in 'Lusty Rose':

I have actually already got this as I previously bought the Benefit 'Big Lip Kit' where you get this shade and 3 others, Flame Game, Pink Thrills and Revved-up Red. So I kind of knew what I would be expecting when this arrived with the box, at first I was a bit apprehensive to use it as its a lipstick with also a lip liner incorporated in with it, which for me was a tad weird as I always apply lip liner before my lipstick so was very much stuck in my ways. It did take me a couple of times to get used to the product but I do like the texture and colour of the lipstick, Benefit truly did do a good job and I haven't seen a lipstick quite like this before.

Oribe Dry Texturising Spray:

I love trying out new dry shampoos as I don't wash my hair everyday seeing as thats not so great for my hair, I tend to wash it 2-3 times a week but over the course of when I am not washing my hair I do like to add a bit of dry shampoo for volume if I see its lacking in it. So when I first tried this, it did smell so so much like hairspray, which I didn't really mind but I had it in my head it would smell different I guess. I have used this a couple of times now and it does do its job, I do find my hair has a bit more volume when I apply this to my hair, however with an RRP of £41.00 I don't think I will be repurchasing this purely because I don't use dry shampoo enough to really justify this price, but for those who love shampoo and use it regularly this would be a great investment, but the Batiste dry shampoo is still an excellent drug store dupe for this in my opinion.

I was very impressed with all the products I received in this months Birchbox and I can't wait for this months one, keep your eyes peeled for my third unboxing!
