London Trip

Last week, me and my friends Holly and Meg went up to London as a belated birthday trip for Meg.

We started the day off by making our way to Uxbridge train station where we hopped on the Metropolitan line to make our way into London.

Once we arrived in London (after getting a little bit lost) We finally got to Tower Hill/Monument Road to go to The Skygarden, 35 floors up a fast lift and we were met with a huge bar area and surrounded by glass walls which allowed us to look over the whole of London. There was also a door for us to go onto a big balcony to get more of a view of London. Once we had finished taking pictures of the scenery, we settled down a bought an expensive bottle of Prosecco between the 3 of us, which undoubtedly went straight to our head as we were only allowed one hour in the sky garden so had to drink the Prosecco fairly quickly (which I would not recommend)

The tickets to the Skygarden were free however, as I mentioned we were only allowed one hour there and according to Holly - the tickets are always going extremely fast so we were lucky to get them when we did. However, for one hour it was one of the best experiences I have had in my life, the view was amazing the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and it wasn't too busy either.

In addition to the Skygarden we also very spontaneously bought tickets to the musical Wicked, so after our hour was up we made our way to Victoria, however after having the Prosecco and not eating for well over 6 hours, we were all STARVING so we decided to go for dinner at Jamie's Italian (which I didn't manage to get a very good photo from as it was extremely dark)

Once we had finished eating, we made our way to the Apollo Victoria Theatre to watch Wicked, it was my very first time watching Wicked and I was extremely excited as I had heard great reviews about it from Holly, Meg and many other people. And I have to say, IT WAS WICKED. Honestly, I could not fault the cast or crew at all everything was amazing and it was really easy to follow, I would highly recommend those who haven't seen it yet, to definitely try and go to see it you won't regret it!

We got back to uni gone midnight and we were all extremely tired the next day, but we all had a great time and I wouldn't have changed a thing!

Christmas Gift Guide For Her

Seeing as its December 1st, I thought it would be relevant to do a Christmas inspired post. After doing a bit of christmas shopping today I realised that shopping for someone like your mum or dad can sometimes be tricky especially when they deserve an island but all you can afford is a novelty mug.

So I started to look on various shopping websites to see if I could come across some affordable but thoughtful gifts.

Gifts Under £15:

This Soap and Glory Soaper Spa for £15 is a great gift to give to someone who loves to have soft skin all year round. This gift set which is usually £20 is always a best seller at Boots and Superdrug, so it is best to grab this while you can, you can't go wrong with a bath set.

The ASOS Christmas Cat Hot Water Bottle And Cosy Socks Set £14 is perfect for someone who loves to stay in on cold winter nights. This could also be a good stocking filler if you have already got a main present and just want to get a little something extra for the person you're buying for.
The Sweet Christmas gift set from lush is a perfect gift for those who love to relax in the bath and at the price of £13.95 and including the 'Snow fairy' shower gel, accompanying 'Snow fairy' conditioner and 'Rock star' soap which if bought separately would come to £25.40, so I personally think this is a good deal and anything from Lush is always great.

I actually bought this for my mum this year as she loves the smell of candles, especially the Christmas scented ones. The Yankee Candle - Christmas Votive Candle Tin Gift Set which includes 3 candles in the scents 'Christmas Cookie', 'Snow in Love' and 'Red Apple Wreath' and it also includes a 'Holly Gold Votive Holder' At the price of £14.99 seeing as Yankee Candles can be quite expensive, this is a great opportunity to get this gift while you can.

Gifts under £20:

The Olivia Glitter Bow Top Box Clutch Bag £18 on BooHoo is the perfect gift for someone who likes to make a statement with their accessories. As well as gold, the bag also comes in silver. Also, seeing as most people will be going to New Years eve parties, this bag will accompany any party outfit.

The Benefit Real Big Steal Set £19.50 includes a full sized 'They're Real' mascara and a free travel sized product too. Most makeup-lovers adore Benefit cosmetics, especially the 'They're Real' mascara - I personally do recommend this mascara as it really extends your lashes and lasts really long. I used to get this for my mum every year until she switched her mascara brand to Yves Saint Laurent for her own personal preference.

At £20 this Nails Inc Prosecco Is Always The Answer Gift Set exclusively at John Lewis, is perfect for the woman in your life who is always doing her nails and loves a cheeky glass (or bottle) of prosecco every now and again. At £20 this is bargain as it includes the new 'Globe Walk Snow-globe' nail polish and the 'Colville Mews Gel Effect nail' polish which both come in a cute cosmetics bag.

The BH Cosmetics Sculpt and Blend 10 Piece Brush set '2' £20 is the perfect gift fro a makeup lover or for someone who is just starting out with makeup and needs the correct brushes but at a reasonable price. The set includes all the basic brushes you would want in your makeup bag or in your brush holders, the perfect gift for a budding makeup artist.

Gifts over £30:

I had to include the Naked Ultimate Basics Eyeshadow Palette £38.50 as it is high up on my Christmas wish list this year. This all-matte neutral palette - which compliments any skin tone is the number one neutral eyeshadow palette any makeup addict needs. In addition to the 12 shades it also comes with the perfect dual ended brush.

Even though this is actually £25 but I feel this is one present ANY girl/woman will love The Brooke Knitted Mermaid Tail Blanket from Boohoo is amazing and comes in 7 shades. I would personally love one of these to use when I am watching tv on the sofa or just relaxing, it looks extremely comfy too! Who doesn't love a good mermaid design?

In recent years, gift packages have become increasingly popular. For those who don't know what a gift package is they can range from a day out in London with dinner or a 3 course meal at a particular restaurant, to test driving a Ferrari or going for a spa day. But its all paid for by the person giving the gift. For £39, you can buy someone and their choice of companion, the opportunity to go for Spa day retreat with afternoon tea

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Camera In Pink £79 from Urban Outfitters is a great present for someone who loves to take photos on the go. The photos print about the same size as a credit cards and would make a perfect pocket tie onto for your purse or wallet. Urban Outfitters also sell the accompanying film for £30.

Lastly, one great gift idea that you can't go wrong with? GIFT CARDS!! If you don't know what they are desperately wanting a gift card for their favourite store is a great gift to give someone for  christmas!
